Switch to a new deal - your questions

If you already have a C&G mortgage and are looking to switch to a new deal, you might have some questions - so we've listed a few of the most common ones here. If you cannot find the information you are looking for, please feel free to ask us a question.

 

What happens when my current mortgage deal ends?

In most cases your interest rate may switch to the Standard Variable Mortgage Rate, which at that time could be higher or lower than the rate you will have been paying and may vary over the remaining term of your mortgage.  See the current Standard Variable Mortgage Rate.

My current mortgage deal is due to end. How do I switch to another C&G deal?

It’s easy for existing mortgage customers to switch to a new deal. You can request a deal online, call us or visit your local branch.

When can I switch my deal?

You can only ask to switch your deal up to a maximum of 10 weeks before your current deal expires. If you do it before this period, you might have to pay an Early Repayment Charge.

Can I pay any of the fees up front?

Any fees that apply to the new deal will be added to your new mortgage. You can then pay the fee(s) off if you want to, or leave them on your mortgage to spread the cost. If you pay them off within 30 days of the start of your mortgage, no interest will be charged on them. If you leave them on your mortgage, interest will be charged on them as part of your main mortgage.  For more information, see a list of our fees and charges

How long does it take to receive the paperwork?

Once you told us the new deal you want, all the paperwork you need will be with you in seven working days.
 

How long does it take to set up the my new deal?

Your new deal will usually take effect five working days after we have received your signed offer.

What is the last date in the month I can apply for the new deal so that it will take effect the following month?

You must request a new deal by the 12th of the month before the month in which you want the deal to start.
